A great morning, sunny and bright, no wind and a great turn out for the annual Lea Valley Cycling Club Hillclimb on Mott Street. 14 club riders, 16 private time trials (nearly all from Team Economic Energy) plus many spectators made this one of the largest turn-outs ever !
Some good rides being done particularly by many of those who have never or barely competed before ... with the almost inevitable winning ride coming from Trevor - well done yet again; although that might not have been the case if Scarlett had remained a bit longer in the Lea Valley Green & White.
As per tradition most of the riders and supporters then decamped to the Green Tea Hut.
Best wishes & Hope to see you next year,
Sean

Prize Presentation & Social Evening 2007

Saturday, January 26th
6pm till 11pm

YMCA Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow.

(Opposite the Town Hall)

The centrepiece of the evening will be the presentation of the many trophies and awards that have been competed for during 2007.

We hope all members will join together for a social evening, which includes a very tasty buffet, music and a bar. For the fun and enjoyment of all there will be a quiz and of course there will be a raffle with some great prizes.

The evening will cost £15 per person and bookings should be made with dinner secretary, Ed Ward.

The more that come the better the evening will be so come and enjoy the company of your club mates and possibly meet some that you didn’t even know were members. Friends and families are of course welcome.

Ed Ward

It's Club Hill Climb Time Again

As Patrick rightly says, the Club Hill Climb is on Sunday 4th November. Would be good to see our new members 'having a go' on the infamous Mott Street ...and maybe give Trevor, Patrick & Scarlett a run for their money. As first man off is at 10:01 am please be at the top of the hill to sign on, get your number and pay your money by 9:30. Sean.

There will be a club run to the Hill Climb leaving Walthamstow Town Hall at 08:30 sharp. The club run will continue after the event, but we'll first refuel at the Green Hut at High Beech!
